Synopsis: A first-year college student is challenged by strange occurrences on campus as they adapt to their new life and discover more about their identity.

The Lost Generations: Experiences of the Lebanese Diaspora in the United States (2023)

I was honored to have received an inaugural grant to conduct research on the experiences of Lebanese immigrants in the United States through Washington & Jefferson College’s Conflict & Resolution Studies department’s Hanson summer research grant in 2023. This resulted in my making a feature-length documentary entitled The Lost Generations: Experiences of the Lebanese Diaspora in the United States. Throughout this project, I conducted historical research, interviewed participants on their immigration experiences while recording sound and video, and edited the film. This is a very personal project for me because of my Lebanese heritage. It was a privilege to be able to create something that I feel represents my heritage and personal history to share with others.

Visions of Africa (2023)

This short documentary film reflects on my travel experience to West Africa in early 2023. Through interviews with other students who went on the trip as well as my perspective, I helped to challenge many of the stereotypes that the Western world tends to associate with Africa to offer a more nuanced perspective of this unique region.
